Mark LaValley has been our preaching minister since July of 2006. He and his wife Shelley were both born in Portland, Oregon, but have moved to various places throughout the country since they have entered full-time ministry. Mark got his undergraduate degree in Bible from Columbia Christian College and then attended Abilene Christian where he received his Masters and Doctorate degrees. Mark and Shelley have been married since June of 1991 and have three children: Katelyn (14), Nathan (11) and Kindra (8). They also have a pet cat named Whiskers. And they are learning to be Mountaineer fans. Mark enjoys running, reading, camping with his family, and a variety of outdoor activities. |

Loren has served as interim campus minister since January 2009. Loren grew up in rural Wirt County, where he graduated valedictorian in 2003. He moved to Morgantown to attend West Virginia University for a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. Loren was blessed to be a part of the campus ministry, Mountaineers for Christ, for several years where he served as spiritual coordinator and president. He plans to soon begin graduate school to receive a Master’s in Christian Ministry.
While attending Mountaineers for Christ, Loren met his lovely and always supportive wife, Toni. They were married at the Morgantown church of Christ building in December of 2008.
Loren is an avid Mountaineers and Steelers fan, and enjoys strumming on his guitar and spending time in the great outdoors. |

Janice has been our church secretary since April 2008. She was born and raised in Morgantown, then lived in numerous places over the years, but returned “home” in 1975. Janice retired as an Administrative Assistant with the Department of Energy in 2004 after 23 years of government service. She is active in the Westside Civic Club, West Virginia Garden Club, and the Westside Red Hatters. Janice has two grown children, Derick and Rami, and three adorable grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, and Bryce. She also has two wonderful cats, Angus and Amber. Janice enjoys cooking, flowers, and reading poetry. Janice tells us that being a part of our special church family is truly a blessing to her. |

Bob (not pictured) and Janet Whisler have been our church custodians since 2001 at the Madigan Avenue building. They do a great job maintaining our building! Bob enjoys walking and watching the news. Janet likes to be with and teach children. She also teaches in our Tuesday School and is now in her 23rd year. She also enjoys cooking, working on their family tree, as well as reading and studying the Bible. Bob and Janet also enjoy working in their flower and vegetable gardens. |
